Re: who grew up in burbank?
Sun, February 5, 2006 - 12:14 PMMoved here when I was 12, but was around pretty much all of my life because my mom worked at Warner Brothers... went to John Manure and BHS. Worst time of my life, but some parts were great; I have a love-hate relationship with this town and its people. I've since moved to Pasadena, but still visit a couple times a week because my mom still lives here.
However, I will always consider Burbank to be my home. I really did a lot of growing up here.

Re: who grew up in burbank?
Wed, April 19, 2006 - 1:03 AMwent to lbjhs....yeah...jhs..when it was a junior high school....to JBHS...John Burroughs HS...
hrmm...been here for 32 years....I've seen quite a bit of change here....I wish I was into photography when I was younger so I could record these changes...
As a side, if you can find the actual album "Ooh LA la" by "the faces", there is a 1932(if I recall correctly) shot of burbank(st?)...maybe it's our city as there are a couple.....
Also, the house I lived in had a concrete block cast with the date of 1947......

Re: who grew up in burbank?
Wed, April 19, 2006 - 10:54 AMi graduated from luther in '90, which is the year it changed so the 8th graders graduated as well. i was part of the last 9th grade class. *sniff*
considering you're two years older, i wonder if we were there at the same time. at the very least, you were there when my sister was there (she graduated luther in '88, burrough's in '91). does the name karla diaz ring a bell?
for a while i too had a love/hate relationship with burbank (and la in general) but i've come full circle and now i'm raising my daughter here. i like it.
funny thing is, i went to bret harte and my sixth grade teacher's son is now a 5th grade teacher at edison. :) -
